New Housing For Older Women In Woolloomooloo In Category - News Date - 17/08/2017 |
Thursday 17 August marked the handing over of keys from the Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) to the Women's Housing Company for 20 new units in the heart of Woolloomooloo.
The keys were handed over by Hugh Phemister, Executive Director Projects at LAHC and received by Chair, Alice Spizzo. Ms Spizzo commended the collaboration and hard work of all involved in making the project a great success.
The carefully designed building places great emphasis on a sense of community, and recognises the site’s heritage through the design of the entrance. The features include a wonderfully landscaped courtyard for residents to meet and a ground floor common room that will create a hub of activity for tenants and the surrounding community.
This new housing for older women in Woolloomooloo is a wonderful response to the need for more social housing.
