On 29 May, 10 tenants joined Women’s Housing Company Community Engagement Co-ordinator, Fiona Forrest, on a whistle stop tour of the Art Gallery of NSW, followed by the Vivid Sydney festival.
Reflecting diverse backgrounds, the group enjoyed works from the European, Aboriginal and Asian galleries before stopping for a welcome cup of tea and chat. It wasn’t long before they were up again to enjoy the lights of Vivid in Circular Quay. Everyone really enjoyed the day. Fiona from Hurstville said, “I wasn’t sure I was going to make it, but it’s so much nicer being part of a group.“ Hartaty added, ‘’it was a good idea to come early and avoid the crowds.”
Vivid Sydney is on at venues across Sydney until 16 June 2018. The Art Gallery of NSW is free and open daily except Good Friday and Christmas Day. For details of our next social event and activities please see the latest Women’s Housing Company newsletter.
